The game is designed for 2 to 6 players, making it ideal for small groups of friends, family gatherings, or game nights.

Mighty Mumbai is suitable for anyone above the age of 8.

The game is played using one dice. However, an additional dice is included in the box as a backup in case of loss or damage.

Players take their turns in a clockwise order around the board. Each player rolls the dice, and their character meeple moves clockwise according to the number rolled.

The duration of a game varies based on the number of players and their strategies, but it typically lasts between 1.5 to 2 hours.

To win, you must collect both your milestone tokens, have at least one connection token in the inner circle, and end with a minimum of ₹5,000 cash. You also need to clear all loans and mortgages to qualify as the winner.

The game features eight character types, each representing a professional chasing dreams in Mumbai, such as a cricketer, actor, or media mogul. Each type has a male and female version. Players select their character by drawing a card from a shuffled deck. Once a character is assigned, you can choose whether to play as the male or female version. All characters are balanced, ensuring no one has an unfair advantage.

The board has two distinct parts: the outer circle, symbolizing the hustle of Mumbai’s rat race, and the inner circle, where hard work and investments made in the outer circle finally yield rewards. However, the inner circle has high risks -players can gain significant rewards or face major setbacks.

To enter the inner circle, you need to redeem one connection token, possess a milestone token, and pay ₹3,000 cash to the banker. Alternatively, if you land on the Sea-Link space, you can propose a partnership with another player. Together, you can combine your resources to meet the requirements and enter the inner circle as partners. Regardless of the method, all players entering the inner circle start at the Bull Run space.

If you run out of cash in the outer circle, you can take a loan of maximum ₹3000 from the banker to stay in the game. However, all loans must be repaid to be eligible to win.

Players who go broke in the inner circle must return to the outer circle and start over. You’ll need to take a loan from the banker (maximum of ₹5000) to continue playing, but all debts must be cleared to qualify for victory. 

If you prefer not to take a loan and restart, you can choose to exit the game.

Every character in Mighty Mumbai has a dedicated play chart that outlines their gameplay for every space on the board. This chart serves as the primary reference for players to understand their actions when landing on specific spaces, alongside the space cards. 

Additionally, there is a separate play chart for the banker, which provides gameplay details for all characters against each board space, ensuring smooth and accurate game management.

Milestone tokens represent your character’s career achievements. Each character has specific milestone spaces in both the outer and inner circles. Landing on these spaces earns you a milestone token. If you enter the inner circle via a partnership, you’ll receive a milestone token even if you haven’t landed on your milestone space yet.

Connection tokens symbolize the relationships and networks you build. These can be earned by landing on specific spaces, though some require a fee. Only the "Find a Mentor" space provides a connection token for free. You need at least one connection token to enter the inner circle and another to win the game.

The CA token provides a ₹500 discount on all purchases and losses during the game. Multiple players can own CA tokens, and they can also be traded with others.

Car tokens can be purchased in the outer circle and redeemed for cash returns when landing on specific spaces in the inner circle. Like the CA token, Car tokens can be traded with other players.

Yes, certain tokens—such as Property, Car, CA, and Seed Funding tokens—can be traded between players at mutually agreed values. However, milestone and connection tokens cannot be traded under any circumstances.

Each space on the board comes with a space card, which explains the specific action required for the character who lands there. These cards not only guide gameplay but also enhance the experience with illustrations and fun details.

These spaces can only be owned by one player at a time. Owners collect rent from other players who land there, even if the owner has moved to the inner circle. If no one owns the space, players landing there don’t pay rent but have the option to purchase it.

If a rent-collecting space hasn’t been purchased, players landing there don’t need to pay rent. Ownership can be claimed by purchasing the space when you land on it.

Loans can be taken in two scenarios. If you land on the "Take a Loan" space in the outer circle, you can borrow money, but you’ll need to repay double the amount when you land on the "Loan Payback" space. Alternatively, if you run out of cash entirely, you can take a loan to stay in the game. All loans must be cleared before you can win.

If you purchase a property on the "Property Purchase" space, you can make a down payment of ₹1,000 and mortgage the remaining amount with the banker. To win the game or claim paybacks, you must clear this mortgage.

Seed funding allows you to invest ₹2,000 in the outer circle and collect a Seed Funding token. If you land on the "Successful Pitch" space, you receive a small return. In the inner circle, landing on the "Startup Investment Booms" space allows you to multiply your investment based on your dice roll.

Yes, players have the option to form alliances when someone lands on the Sea-Link space in the outer circle. This allows two players to pool their resources to meet the requirements for entering the inner circle. For example, if one player has a connection token but lacks the required cash, they can partner with another player who has enough cash and a milestone token. Both players can then enter the inner circle together. The player without a milestone token will receive one as part of the partnership. Partnerships dissolve once players are inside the inner circle, and each player continues individually.

If you land on the "Arrested" space, you have two options to avoid being sent back to the outer circle. You can either pay ₹4,000 in cash or redeem one connection token. In partnerships, the partner with less cash is sent back to the outer circle, regardless of who lands on the space. This rule ensures that resources and strategic planning remain critical.

In cases where a rule isn’t clear, the banker steps in to make the final decision. The banker’s ruling is considered ultimate and binding for all players.

If a player exits the game before it concludes, all their resources—including tokens and cash—are handed over to the banker. The remaining players can continue without disruption.

No, Mighty Mumbai cannot be paused and resumed. The game is designed to be played in one continuous session. If you cannot finish, it’s best to restart with a fresh game.

While there aren’t alternative rules built into the game, players can set a time limit for gameplay. At the end of the chosen time, the player with the most milestone tokens, connection tokens, and cash is declared the winner. This provides a faster yet still competitive experience.

Some spaces in the outer circle allow players to make investments that pay off in the inner circle. These pay-offs are one-time rewards and require players to redeem the corresponding token to collect their returns from the banker. If you land on the same pay-off space again after redeeming the token, you won’t receive additional rewards.

No, once a token has been redeemed for a pay-off, the rewards cannot be collected again, even if the player lands on the same space later in the game.

These spaces can only be owned by one player at a time. Ownership allows the player to collect rent from anyone who lands on the space, and this benefit continues even if the owner moves to the inner circle. Exclusive spaces can be traded with other players for cash or other resources, except milestone and connection tokens.

If a rent-collecting space like Vada Pav Centre, PG, or Dabba Service isn’t owned, players landing there don’t have to pay rent. However, they have the opportunity to purchase the space if they wish, gaining its benefits for the rest of the game.

Players can negotiate and trade tokens such as Property, Car, CA, and Seed Funding tokens with each other for cash or other resources. These trades are purely based on mutual agreement between the players involved. However, connection and milestone tokens cannot be traded or sold under any circumstances.

Players are free to refuse trade offers from other players, as trades are voluntary. However, if a player lands on a rent-collecting space, they must pay rent to the owner of the space. If they lack the funds, they will incur debt with the banker, which must be cleared before they can win the game.
